Greenbrae borders Kentfield and is in an unincorporated area of Marin. There is no "City Hall" and all the administrative aspects of the community of managed by the County of Marin. Greenbrae is located in one of the most successful and sought after public school systems (They share the same school district with Kentfield.).
Homes in Greenbrae are close to the freeway and near the popular Bon Aire
Shopping Center- a hub for shopping in Marin. Many homes in Greenbrae are located in the hills east of Sir Francis Drake Blvd and many have views of the water and Mt. Tamalpais.
There are some areas in Greenbrae in the flats that have level yards for he kids, but not many. The Weather in Greenbrae is good, warm and sunny when it is foggy in Mill Valley, Sausalito or Corte Madera and you will be near the Larkspur ferry for a 30-45 minute ride into San Francisco.
Kentfield
Along Sir Francis Drake Blvd towards San Anselmo, Ross and Fairfax we come upon Kentfield, another unincorporated area of Marin. Kentfield, in the excellent school district which it shares with Greenbrae, provides residents with more substantial homes than those you will find in Greenbrae, both as to size, lot size and other amenities.
There is a sub area of Kentfield, which is called Kent Woodlands. This area borders Larkspur and is situated near the College of Marin and the wonderful Woodlands Market. Homes in Kent woodlands are in the hills as well as the flats but usually you will be a in a lush woodsy area of Redwoods and Pines with views of the Bay and Mt. Tamalpais.
