Real Estate Company Buys Larkspur Shopping Center
A real estate company, based out of Santa Monica, has bought the Larkspur Landing shopping center. The deal was estimated at
sixty five million dollars. The current plans are to update the shopping center in Marin County by turning it into an
open air market that will feature local independent shops, as well as, areas that will be open to the public.
The property will not only include more boutique-type shops, but initial plans will include a toy store, restaurants and a bookstore. The
Larkspur shopping center will also receive a much needed facelift by improving the landscape by adding public areas, gardens and a playground.
The real estate company who made the purchase is no stranger to reinventing a shopping center, as they have done this before by already revitalizing the
hip Brentwood Country Mart located in Los Angeles.
Even in the current state of the economy, the mall is expected to be a success due to its boutique shops and added space for the public. The
Larkspur Landing is nearly 3/4 leased.
